On the one hand, British dentistry has come a long way—we’ve actually some of the healthiest teeth in the world, according to WHO.

Yes, but it’s the tension between the believable and the unbelievable that makes fiction enjoyable. LOTR, for example, is at such a remove from our reality that there is no place for comparison. Star Wars, much less so. Star Wars is based upon technologies that are much more similar to ours.
